Spring Break....Day 3

On Wednesday we went to Enid with Grandma Barbara and spent the day at Leonardos. Both of my girls have a love for Science!! They must have gotten it from their daddy, because I know I never enjoyed it! LOL! Anyway, we did it all and then some. They had a wonderful time!

Going "EXPLORING"

While exploring at our ranch this evening, we discovered dams...not 1 or 2 or 3, there were 4!! I have never really looked at these before, but I am amazed!! Amazed at how much work goes into a dam, and how much time. We found a few dens where the beavers live, but thankful none came out (I am not sure, but I don't think they are very nice). We later came upon the tree in the picture. I honestly had no idea that beavers took down this size of a tree, I guess I thought they just used trees that had fallen or small ones..Boy, I learned a lot!!! And I am for sure taking my camera along next time, all I had was my camera phone.

Spring Break ...Day 2

This Spring Break I told myself...."We are going to do at least 1 activity a day from the norm" So excluding yesterday, because I had to work, we started today.

Day 2....Make Oobleck

In the book "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" by Dr. Seuss; there is a spell cast to create an extremely sticky green substance also known as "goop" coming from the sky. This "goop" known as oobleck, is cheap and easy to make and easy to clean up. Do not put the oobleck down the sink it will clog your pipes, throw it in the trash when you are finished with it. Also you can store it in a plastic baggy in the refrigerator to use another time!!

Things You'll Need:
1/4 cup of white glue
1/4 cup of water
1/4 cup of liquid starch

1. mix the water and glue first
2. add 2 drops of food coloring (goop is green, but we used other colors)
3. add the liquid starch
My kids used their hands to mix the starch and you can feel it start to form.

Lots of easy entertainment!!!

Rylee Hunter Wahl

The smallest blessing in our life was born 9 years ago today. So small and fragile, she could fit in her daddy's hand and fill her parents heart. I can sit here and close my eyes and picture my 3.1 lb baby, as if it were yesterday. I can still remember the fear and love in the new daddy's eyes, along with the beating of my heart when I would think of all the "what ifs". Once so tiny and dependent, she is now so beautiful and strong spirited. She has amazed us as parents with each passing day and she is the reason I stop " to smell the roses". A stranger would never know of her story by just looking at her, but you my friends were more than likely a part of that story...either by being there at the hospital while I had my stay, sending cards, calling, bringing us food when we made it home; but most of you by praying for us. We never really received an answer as to why my water broke 3 months early; they figure it was due to stress of losing my grandmother the month before...I still to this day believe it was God's hand...He knew Ryan and I were not prepared to be the parents we are today. The 2 month journey brought Ryan and I closer in our marriage, and that in return molded us to be the parents God wanted us to be. Rylee has been blessed in so many ways...the most important to us as parents is that she has never had anything severly wrong with her due to her early arrival. She is not as tall as her classmates, but then she could have just gotten that from her mother!! She has 1 tiny scar where they had placed a tube in her collasped lung, and I always tell her that is there to remind her (and us) that she is so special!! I can not believe how well she has grown up. We are very proud parents...she is kind, loving, funny, thoughtful, beautiful inside and out, and she is ours!!! Happy 9th birthday Rylee. I am so thankful to have you in our lives!!

Fun In the Snow...

My birthday...again...

The girls wanted to make me a cake for my birthday, so I helped them get it cooked and frosted. After I was finished, the creativity began. They made a face on the heart cake and I am not sure how many sprinkles they used. They were so proud of themselves and the cake was wonderful. It was a beautiful memory..one I will cherish for always.

My Birthday Weekend...

The weekend before my birthday, Ryan, me, Heather, Shelley and Joel, all went to OKC for the night and we went to a Karaoke Bar. We sang, danced and laughed the night away. There were many memories made that night, and I enjoyed all of them. It was a wonderful night, with wonderful friends!
