A BUSY WEEKEND...

Let's start with Friday 13.

I don't know if Abbey thought Valentine's Day was like Christmas or what, but she was so excited for Saturday to come; I thought she was going to bust. Anyway the girls were up and ready by 7:15 on Friday morning, all because the Valentine's Day Parties at school were that day.

Abbey's class celebrated with a Valentine Party. They exchanged valentine's and goodies in their boxes they had made. 2 days before they had gone to the Fellowship Home to sing 3 songs and hand out Valentines.

Rylee's class had their party in the afternoon. They also had made bags at school and exchanged Valentines with each other in their class. They ate snacks and then went through their Valentines.

February 13 in the evening.

Rylee's 2nd grade class and the 3rd grade classes all performed Friday night at the half time of the girls basketball game. They have been working on basketball drills during PE class and they showed off their skills at the game. From her mother, I thought Rylee did AWESOME! Since then we have had a handful of people tell us to keep working on her, she has great coordination and control...maybe we have an athlete on our hands?! Who knows! LOL! All of the kiddos did a great job!

Happy Valentine's Day

We surprised the girls and took them on a trip to OKC for the day. They thought they were going so they could visit Paige and Tanner. They were but we had an "errand" to run first. We stopped at Mustang to get a puppy we had found 2 weeks ago. The girls had no idea!! It was so FUN!!! We ended up with 2 puppies!! Later they were named Foxy (the girl) and Bear (the boy). They are so cute!!! We are going to try it again. These aren't the best pics of them so I will add some later, but here they are on their first pick-up ride to see Paige, Tanner, Heather and Mike.

The puppy that Rylee is holding is Foxy. Her little ears stay straight up and Heather said she looked like a little fox, hence the name Foxy. The one Abbey's hand is holding up, is Bear. He is a little butterball. I don't really know how the name came about, we all just agreed it was cute.

Later, Paige babysat the girls and the adults went out. All week I had planned on going to the Looney Bin. We get to OKC and they are sold out!!! NO WHERE did I read on the website how to buy tickets in advance, so I assumed it was first come...that is the last time I think!!! LOL!! Any way we went to On the Border. Ryan and Mike ordered the endless enchilada plate (the special). They both ate 6 enchiladas, beans and rice, and the chips. Our men are AWESOME! Heather and I split a pitcher of Sangaritas (they were great!), shared empanadas, and had chips and salsa. We enjoyed each others company for a couple of hours and called it a night! It was a really great evening and I couldn't have asked for better company. Love ya sister!

School Project...

Well we had homework in Pre-K. We are to make a box (or whatever you want) for Abbey's classmates to put their Valentine's in, so Abbey started making hers. She is so independent. Her cousin Tanner helped her with the top and I gave her the lines to cut on to make the hearts; but everything else she did on her own. She is so cute when she is "in the mode". Her little tongue goes out and she shuts out the rest of the world. She loves projects.

When Rylee got home she decided she needed a box for the house, in case any of us wanted to give her a Valentine. So away she went, and she conned her Aunt Heather to help her. Let me just say, this isn't Aunt Heather's most favorite thing to do; but she did and Rylee had so much fun.

My World....

I have one of those days...maybe you have had them. Things about "what could be" or "what may happen in life", have floated through my mind all day. This always brings me down some and makes me stop and think. But I didn't let it get me down today. I just thought of all the positives in life, and my two girls are in the top three of my true positives.

Today though I just sat and watched my girls. I "stopped and smelled my roses" you could say. Sometimes life just seems to be flying by so fast and I am afraid I am going to miss out if I don't slow down.

Abbey played outside most of the afternoon, it was 73 out today. We cleaned the garage and picked up the back porch. She was so excited just to help! She was a sweeping machine. I found myself just smiling and watching her. She is just such the perfect gift from God. How He chose me to take care of His child while on earth, I will never know, but will always be grateful.

Then this evening I watched as Rylee was playing basketball in the barn. She has just amazed me from day one, being 3 months early and so little. I was so sure Ryan and I were going to break her. I can still recall the night the hospital called, I had come home to get a good nights sleep, and told us if we would come stay the night at the hospital with her she could come home the next day. I absolutely panicked! I called my mom crying, I just didn't know if we were ready for her. She was only 3.7 lbs when we were able to bring her home. Now I watch as my little girl is in 2nd grade, spreading her wings and trying new things like basketball and soccer. She simply amazes me.

There are so many things in this life that I am truly thankful for: my health, my family's health, my hubby, my friends, my family, my community, my church family, and so many more I could name. The most precious gift my God has given me, during my time on this earth, is being a mom to these two special girls. They can brighten my mood in a single smile and make me laugh more than anyone else I know. I am truly blessed. To God be the glory!

The Best Way to Spend a Birthday

Wow! 31 years old. It seems like only yesterday....yeah yeah! LOL! Anyway, yesterday was the big 31 for me. I woke like every other morning, running late! Ha! Ryan wished me a Happy Birthday and off to work he went. I dropped the kiddos off and went to work out. Just another ordinary day. Then a special friend, Marshalene, which emailed me the night before wanted to meet for lunch. I thought this would be a nice way to spend my day, with a friend at lunch. Abbey and I arrived a Mel's and to my surprise, she had invited 2 more of my friends, Cinnamon and Lisa. Let me just tell you, it has been a very long time since a friend took a special interest in celebrating my birthday. My family always makes it special in one way or another, but it has been a while since a friend gave me such a blessing. I had so much fun visiting with these gals and Abbey was such a well behaved little girl while we ate. Marshalene will never know the impact her thoughtfulness had on me yesterday. Every now and then I think we all just need to feel special, and that is exactly what I felt yesterday! Thank you ladies for taking time out of your day to spend with me!

Then last night we went out to eat with my mom and dad, Grandma Frances and Lyndon, and Kelly. Along with Ryan and the girls. It was so funny before we left to eat. Abbey was so concerned because she had not gotten me a birthday gift. I told her I would just love a card that she made, so she took off to make it. A little later she wants a gift bag, because she knows exactly what she wants me to have. I knew this would be good, so we found a gift bag. Away she went and came back with the bag and one of her baby dolls in it. Of course I was not suppose to see the doll. Later when Ryan came home, she was upset because he had not given me anything, so they found him a gift bag. Yes ladies, my man goes all out!! LOL!! So, I couldn't talk her into letting me open them at home, she wanted me to open them in front of everyone at dinner. YEAH! After we eat she is so eager for me to open the gift. To Grandma Frances confused look, I pull out a baby doll. Grandma asks me, did she really pick that out for you, so I filled her in on the story and we chuckle. Then I open Ryan's little bag to find peanuts from the COOP. Needless to say my gifts were very "unusual" for the people around us. Oh well! Abbey was beaming from ear to ear. It was priceless.

And this was the best way I could have every spent my birthday. I feel blessed to have such a loving family and caring friends. Thank you for making me realize I am special!
